Windmill Mobile Phone Charger

The windmill mobile phone charger differs from other chargers in several ways. First, this charger uses a fanblade with an attached generator to power your cell phone. It's also waterproof and has a one ampere DC flow (12V) with a potential difference of 12V, which should be enough juice for just about any mobile device. Technical specs after the jump. [Gizmodo]

Is it intended to be clipped onto your car window for charging while driving? If not, I don't see much use for this. If so, still not much use, but I'd still use one just for the fun factor.

if you clip it to your car, you might be able to crank about 3 amps out of the thing and fry your phone... or zap someone with a lethal anperage.

"Blow on it"...? wtf? It's pretty obvious that the point behind something like this is to be (a) outdoors and (b) somewhere you don't have access to a handy power outlet but still want power for your mobile phone. Ever gone camping or hiking for extended periods any distance away from your car? If not, this probably isn't intended for you. Find something else.

If you are in a car then why don't you just plug it into the 12V outlet.

It's also valuable if the 12V in your auto is used not working. Also, in some states, there is wind all the time, so it would charge anything easily. Finally, only people who are jealous tear apart another's ideas.

It says its waterproof. So if your out in the woods stick it into a stream or river. They never stop flowing :)
