Bugatti Calandre Table Clock
A table clock priced at $240,000—enough for a Lamborghini Urus or a snug condo—sounds like pure fantasy, but the Bugatti Calandre Table Clock, born from a collab between Jacob & Co., Bugatti, and Lalique, is no ordinary timepiece. Limited to just 99 units, this desk-dwelling stunner fuses automotive luxury, crystal artistry, and watchmaking wizardry into a jaw-dropping showpiece that’s as much a statement as it is a clock.

Three years in the making, the Calandre pulls its vibe straight from the Bugatti Type 41 Royale, a 1930s beast famed for its lavish design and massive horseshoe grille. That grille takes center stage here, reimagined in hand-cut Lalique crystal with a satin-polished sheen that scatters light like a disco ball. At 264 mm wide and 196 mm tall, its brass casing, in black or chrome, gives it an industrial edge, while a 30-mm Jacob-cut red gemstone caps it off with a pop of color. “This clock is a bridge between automotive legacy and modern craftsmanship,” says Jacob & Co.’s team.

The details are where it gets wild. Two tiny crystal elephants, carved by Lalique, flank the grille, a tribute to Rembrandt Bugatti, the sculptor and brother of Bugatti founder Ettore. These “Dancing Elephants,” lifted from the Type 41 Royale’s radiator cap, tie the clock to a rich history. A Bugatti blue Macaron logo sits front and center, screaming French heritage.

Under the hood, Jacob & Co.’s hand-wound JCAM58 caliber—a 189-part mechanical beast—keeps things ticking. Forget Wi-Fi or Alexa; this clock’s all about old-school craftsmanship, with an eight-day power reserve that runs for a week on one wind. A vertical flying tourbillon, a fancy bit of engineering that boosts accuracy in upright clocks, spins behind the grille, echoing the precision of Bugatti’s Tourbillon hypercar. “We wanted to capture the precision of Bugatti’s hypercars in a new form,” Jacob & Co. adds.

It arrives in a swanky leather trunk, like a prize for a collector’s vault, with its 99-unit run making it feel like a rare gem. The Calandre is an homage to Jacob & Co.’s watchmaking prowess, Bugatti’s car legacy, and Lalique’s crystal magic.
