iKKO Mind One Smartphone
Smartphones keep getting bigger, but iKKO Audio dares to shrink things down with the Mind One. At 3.39 x 2.83 x 0.35 inches and 132 grams, this phone fits in your pocket like a credit card.

Its 4.02-inch AMOLED display is practically square in design and boasts a sharp 1080p resolution that lets every pixel stand out. Flip the phone over and you’ll find its standout feature: a 50MP Sony camera sensor with OIS, mounted on a 180 degree hinge. This single lens is both rear and selfie camera, a clever space saving move that ensures you’re always using the best sensor. No sample photos yet, prototypes are still being refined but a mid-range camera in such a small package is intriguing.

Underneath is Android 15 with iKKO’s custom AI OS. This OS is designed for the square display, so apps like TikTok, Instagram and even Netflix look natural without black bars. The software is simple, with AI tools for note taking, answering questions, generating podcasts based on your interests. Calendar apps feel like a pocket planner, games and media adapt surprisingly well to the small screen. It’s iKKO’s focus on making every inch count.

Battery life is a question mark but the 2,200 mAh cell is supposed to last a full day, seems plausible given the small screen and 60Hz refresh rate. 4G+ connectivity instead of 5G, a deliberate choice to balance speed and power efficiency. Nano SIM slot and a mysterious “Nano Link” feature that promises free global internet for AI functions in over 60 countries, no SIM or Wi-Fi required. Details are scarce, iKKO mentions automatic connections to local networks but the mechanics are unclear. Still, a phone that stays connected without extra hassle is undeniably cool.

For more, an optional expansion case adds a physical QWERTY keyboard, 3.5mm audio jack and lanyard loop to turn the Mind One into a modern PDA. The 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage should be enough for everyday use, but iKKO hasn’t revealed the processor yet. Three major Android updates and five years of security patches is a good promise for a startup in uncharted territory. At $369 on Kickstarter (discounted from the final $499 price) it’s a steal for early adopters willing to take the plunge.

Crowdfunding comes with risks and iKKO’s roots are in audio products not smartphones so there are execution questions. But there’s something about a device that defies convention. The Mind One isn’t chasing flagship specs or mainstream appeal; it’s a niche product for those who want a phone that feels personal, portable and a little bit weird. As it ships in October 2025 this little giant might just find a place in a market dominated by giants.
