Lenovo AI Workmate Concept 2026 Robot MWC
Lenovo enters the realm of robots with the AI Workmate Concept, a desk-top gadget that blends a small robotic arm with everyday office tools, powered by on-device AI to handle tasks without relying on distant servers (or the cloud).

At the bottom is a round plate, hopefully not designed to slide off your desk and into the floor, followed by a robotic arm that extends all the way up to a rounded end piece. The final piece of the puzzle is a 3.4-inch LCD screen and puppy dog animated eyes that flicker with a variety of expressions to indicate whether it is listening to you, thinking, or reacting. If Workmate repeats anything you have taught it to repeat, its eyes will narrow significantly, yet if it is processing something heavy, its eyes will light up. Two 5-megapixel cameras stare down from beneath the screen, ready to capture whatever you set flat in front of them.

The well-thought-out part is that everything is powered by a very fast Intel Core Ultra processor and backed up by 64GB of RAM, ensuring that everything is nice, local, and snappy. Obviously, there’s a pico projector built in, disguised in the skull, allowing you to project images, documents, and presentations directly onto your desk or even the wall next to you. The positioning of the Workmate is critical here, since if it’s near a wall, you’ll have significantly more room to project onto without having to rotate the monitor around.

You can engage with the Workmate in a variety of natural ways, including speaking to it and having it recognize your voice commands, waving at it and having it recognize your motion, or even writing something on a piece of paper and scanning it. Everything is done in real time, and massive language models are built to assist you with your daily work duties.

The Workmate is more than just an advanced scanner or projector. It can also aid you with your daily chores, such as organizing your brainstorming on paper, writing an article based on verbal input, and even responding as a voice assistant. The arm, of course, is one of the Workmate’s most notable characteristics. It can swivel, expand, hover above a document for a better view of the scanner, and even tilt to get a better view of the projector.
