Ten borderless “Final Fantasy artist cards” show new illustrations by these artists, who picked their favorite characters to draw in their unique styles. These are in Play and Collector Boosters, available in non-foil, traditional foil, and surge foil versions. Special versions include black and neon ink Colorful Chocobo cards (black in Japanese, neon in English) and a Serialized Golden Chocobo card, with only 77 serialized Traveling Chocobo cards in English Collector Boosters.

A new card type, inspired by Final Fantasy summons like Shiva, enters the game with a lore counter, gives an instant effect, and stays for a few turns before vanishing, copying the short but strong nature of summons. Double-faced cards show transformations or key moments, like Kefka, Court Mage/Kefka, Ruler of Ruin, Sephiroth, Fabled SOLDIER/Sephiroth, One-Winged Angel, or Clive, Ifrit’s Dominant/Ifrit, Warden of Inferno. They change to a second form with special effects when certain conditions are met.

There are borderless character versions of cards from the main set and the Commander decks,” said Zakeel Gordon / Jubilee Finnegan, Wizards of the Coast in a press release.
