Set to be released on August 31, Netflix’s One Piece live-action series will follow Monkey D. Luffy (Iñaki Godoy), a teenager who acquires the properties of rubber, as he conquers the sea. He recruits a tattered crew of misfits to join him onboard, including Roronoa Zoro (Mackenyu), Nami (Emily Rudd), Usopp (Jacob Romero), and Sanji (Taz Skylar).
The gang is called the ‘Straw Hats’ and they set sail to various islands in search of the mysterious One Piece treasure. No adventure is smooth sailing, which means the Straw Hats run into dangerous enemies who stand in their way of hitting the gold. Eiichiro Oda, creator of the One Piece series, serves as executive producer and played an important role during the entire adaptation process including casting as well as post production.

It’s already fun seeing the flurry of reactions after each release of information. And the very fact that adapting ONE PIECE into live-action was conceived seven years ago is wild!. By now, I just love this production team and the cast so much that I can’t wait for them to get the acclaim they deserve from everyone around the world,” said Eiichiro Oda, Manga Artist and Creator of One Piece Series.
