Activision’s Shrek 2 was released in 2004, so it’s safe to say that the franchise is long overdue for a new title on next-generation consoles. TeaserPlay shows us what an open-world Shrek game made in Unreal Engine 5 could look like on the PS5, Xbox Series S | X, etc.
This game would take full advantage of Unreal Engine 5’s Lumen, Nanite and real-time Ray Tracer tools to bring the Shrek universe to life. The tech demo begins in Shrek’s cottage in the middle of a swamp where we also see Donkey, before the giant green ogre travels to the town of Duloc.
