Teegarden's Star Planet

An international team of researchers has discovered two new Earth-like planets orbiting Teegarden’s Star, one of our closest stars, located about 12.5 light years away. Teegarden’s Star is estimated to be at least eight billion years old, which means those two potentially habitable planets orbiting it are also as ancient, so evolved intelligent life is a possibility. “Both Teegarden’s planets are potentially habitable. We will eventually see if they are actually habitable and, perhaps, even inhabited,” said Ignasi Ribas of the Institute of Space Studies of Catalonia. NASA Ice Mountain Dwarf Planet Ceres

NASA has just released a new image of an ice mountain on the dwarf planet Ceres that “is like nothing that humanity has ever seen before.” For those who don’t know, Ceres is also the largest known asteroid, with a diameter approaching 600 miles and contains the largest mountain on the largest known asteroid in the solar system, Ahuna Mons, which rises more than 13,000 feet. “The new hypothesis, based on numerous gravity measurements, holds that a bubble of mud rose from deep within the dwarf planet and pushed through the icy surface at a weak point rich in reflective salt — and then froze,” said in a statement. Harry Potter: Wizards Unite AR Game

Niantic, the maker of Pokémon GO, announced today that its new game Harry Potter: Wizards Unite will launch worldwide on June 21st. The game will be available in the US and the UK on Friday to kick off its worldwide launch. Players will be able to view the gameplay world through a smartphone, just like its predecessor, and fight against mythical beasts from the Harry Potter and Fantastic Beasts universe. That’s exactly what happened across Alberta, Canada this past week, which saw severe thunderstorms bringing hail, heavy rain, whipping winds, and lightning. Scientifically speaking, this is called a hail shaft, which is found underneath a convective storm when an abundance of hail is falling from the storm. Want to try out the new Tesla Arcade yourself, even without owning one of the company’s vehicles? Just head on over to a showroom between now and June 30th. That’s right, Beach Buggy Racing 2, which was unveiled in Los Angeles at E3 2019, can be tried out in-person, complete with steering wheel control. If you’re unfamiliar with the game, it’s “a kart racing game where you can careen, blast and launch your way through 22 tracks. Players can recruit new drivers (see if you can find our favorite) and use the steering wheel controls for the most immersive gaming experience,” according to Tesla.
