It’s a typical mainstream handset, meaning the manufacturer has had to work out a compromise to manage to keep the price low, but integrated nice extra features like a GPS, Wi-Fi and decently performing 5-megapixel camera.

According to this comparison, the new PlayStation 3 Slim slightly trails its predecessor in both disc loading and startup — “same 7200RPM hard drive installed on both and firmware 2.80 installed.” Video after the break.

It makes little sense that the new unit would have a different, slightly underpowered motherboard, so the rumor is that the two configurations might have different hard drives.

Inside his climbing-wall fortress he has a desk made of particle board that has been sanded and sealed with polyurethane to give it a glossy surface you wouldn’t expect from the kind of material it’s made out of.
