Lotus was a dominant force in Formula One for many years, especially in the 1980s, but since then, the automaker has only dabbled in motorsports. Automotive designer Maitreya Dhanak hopes to change that with his ultra sleek Lotus Evanora concept. This all-electric supercar boasts an open-top roadster design that somewhat resembles the F1 cars of today, complete with exposed mechanical components. Read more for additional pictures.
Sleek and stylish, the Lotus Eletre is the company’s first Hyper-SUV and combines the core principles as well as over 70 years of sports car design into a lifestyle car for the next-generation of customers. Think of it as a cross between the Lotus Emira and Evija hypercar with a a battery capacity of over 100kWh generating 600hp, enabling it to hit 60 mph in under 3-seconds. The system is based on an 800V system, which means a 350kW charger delivers a 248-mile range in just 20 minutes. Read more for two videos and additional information.
The all-new 2022 Lotus Emira draws inspiration from the automaker’s Evija hypercar and is their last internal combustion engine vehicle ever. Customers will be able to choose from either a supercharged 3.5L Toyota V6 engine paired to a manual / automatic gearbox or a turbocharged 2.0L Mercedes-AMG engine, mated to an 8-speed dual clutch transmission. Horsepower will range between 360 hp and 400 hp depending on the engine selected.
