PICTURES: 2009 Mazda RX-8 Gets Restyled Front Fascia (Video)

Mazda’s 2009 RX-8 features a restyled front fascia, upgraded exhaust, 232hp two-rotor RENESIS engined mated to a six-speed manual gearbox, and a stiffened chassis. Video after the break. Click here for first picture in gallery.

The real news, however, is the optional R3 package for the RX-8. This includes the rear spoiler, 19-inch forged aluminum wheels, side sills and fog lamps. The stock seats are swapped out for stunning thrones from Recaro and Bilstein was tapped by Mazda to provide the shocks

Mazda officialy revealed its sleek Furai concept at the 2008 Detroit Auto Show. It’s rumored to include a “Mazda 20B rotary engine pushing 450 horsepower and a Courage C65 race car chassis.” Video after the break. Click here for first picture in gallery.

PICTURES: Leaked Shots of the Mazda RX-9

A couple leaked shots of the 2012 Mazda RX-9 have just surfaced. This vehicle will reportedly feature a “Wankel powerplant of somewhere around 1.8 liters, and be more oil and fuel efficient than the current generation.” Click here for one more picture.

Power would make it to an unidentified number of wheels via a dual-clutch 6-speed transmission and limited-slip diff

PICTURES: Mazda Furai Concept Becomes Reality, Shown to Public

Mazda has just unveiled its stunning Furai concept to the public. It features “a fully-running three-rotor Mazda 20B rotary engine that runs on E100 ethanol and produces around 450 horsepower.” Click here for the first picture in gallery.

The Furai, which translates to “sound of wind”, is built on a Courage C65 chassis that was campaigned by Mazda in the 2005 ALMS season. The flowing shape of the Furai was co-designed by Mazda and Swift Engineering at Mazda’s design studio in Southern California

Mazda’s futuristic Taiki concept boasts the “next-generation RENESIS (rotary engine 16X), which sets new standards for environmental and driving performance, a front-engine rear-drive layout, a unique 2-seat configuration, and Mazda’s rotary sports package, which conveys an image of lightness.” Video after the break.
