Japanese car manufacturer Nissan has developed the world’s first self-cleaning car, which utilizes innovative ‘nano-paint technology’ that repels dirt before it gets a chance to take hold on the paintwork. A Nissan rep said: “The Nissan Note is first car to trial paint which could make car washes obsolete. Washing a car can be a chore – and a costly one at that. In response, Nissan has begun tests on innovative paint technology that repels mud, rain and everyday dirt, meaning drivers may never have to clean their car again.” Continue reading for a video and more information.

Criminals beware, as this awesome Nissan GT-R police car might be one vehicle you won’t be able to outrun. According to HiConsumption, “the 2-door sports car has even been equipped with a set of flashing red and blue lights complete with sirens.” The Dubai police car fleet might be its only rivals. JamieP filmed and uploaded this video onto YouTube, which shows his excited daughter going along for a ride in his monstrous 1000hp GT-R. She sits in the front passenger seat and then screams and laughs her way through the various high speed runs urging her father to keep on going while covering her eyes. Boasting “paintwork that has the same effect on light as a black hole”, this monstrous Nissan Juke-R is powered by a GTR engine that outputs 478bhp — its “two-piece rear wing, the carbon-composite bumpers and sills, arch extensions sit as tightly over the 20-inch wheels as a swimming cap.” Click here for more pictures. It doesn’t juggle the power as communicatively as a GT-R, and if you carry too much lock out of corners it will understeer, but judge it right and this stubby little battering ram rips off into the distance, tyres howling, exhaust trumpeting that hollow-throated roar.

We have seen the future of racing, and it’s the Nissan DeltaWing. Looking more like a futuristic Batmobile than a modern day racecar, this vehicle “comes packing a turbo’d 1.6-liter four-cylinder engine putting out a little over 180 horsepower, but when modified for racing duty, output swells to some 300 hp.” Click here for more pictures. Continue reading for two videos.

The DeltaWing is a joint project between former Lola design chief Ben Bowlby and Chip Ganassi Racing, and pitched as the future of IndyCar. To reduce drag and optimize weight bias, the engine is mounted behind the driver and power is sent to the rear wheels. More intriguingly, with both the engine and driver mounted far back in the carbon fiber chassis, the ultra-thin front tires don’t have to move much to elicit a change in direction.

The GT-R-powered Nissan Juke-R is now the world’s fastest crossover vehicle capable of going from 0-60mph in just 3.7-seconds. That’s right, “3.7 seconds may be a second slower than the GT-R, but it’s only two-tenths of a second slower than the Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG.” Click here for more pictures. The Nissan Juke R is a gaggle of impressive numbers: 1,540 hours and 22 weeks of development time, 11 videos of its development, several upset bosses, 480 GT-R-derived horsepower and 428 pound-feet – and to that group we can add a 3.7-second 0-to-60 time and a top speed of 160 miles per hour.

Powered by a 485-horsepower twin-turbo V6 engine from the Nissan GT-R, the 3200-pound Juke-R does 0-60mph in just 3.6-seconds and runs the quarter mile in a mere 11.44-seconds. No word yet on if we’ll see a production model. Video after the break. Click here for more pictures.

Respecting the space of the Juke-R build team doesn’t mean we don’t want to examine this evil little mutant closely. Nissan UK knows this, and has thrown us all a bone with 11 new pictures and three videos of the Juke-R, one with audio of the revving engine.

You may have seen or heard of the 2068-pound Nissan Leaf NISMO RC — unveiled at the New York Auto Show earlier this year — but now the company proves just what its capable of “during a demonstration event prior to the 79th running of the 24 Hours of Le Mans.” Videos after the break. Click here for the first picture in gallery.

The Nismo RC rolls up to the starting line packing 107 horsepower and 207 pound-feet of torque, and its lithium-ion pack can reach an 80 percent charge state in just 30 minutes.
