Sure, the Nissan Leaf NISMO RC has a top speed of 93mph, powered by a 107hp electric motor, but aesthetically, it’s leaps and bounds ahead of the standard model. Plus, it weighs just 2068-pounds, thanks to a carbon fiber chassis. Video after the break. Click here for more pictures.

The Leaf Nismo RC can do 0 to 60mph in 6.85 seconds, and can stay out on the track reaching speeds up to 93mph for about 20 minutes before running out of juice. Ouch.

Nissan revealed their revamped 2012 GT-R at the LA Auto Show today. Upgrades include “increased boost from the twin turbos packed into the six combustion chambers along with larger inlet and exhaust pipes.” These modifications enable the car to hit 60mph in under 3-seconds. Pricing will start at $89,950 and go up to $95,100 for the Premium and Black editions. Video after the break. Click here for the first picture in the gallery.

All models get new and improved Rays wheels, and a new Black Edition sees darkened six-spoke affairs along with red-trimmed Recaro seats that should look pretty darn nice with the new across-the-range carbon interior highlights.

Drivers who want the absolute cleanest and efficient automobile should get the Nissan LEAF when it’s released next year. Videos after the break. Powered by lithium ion batteries, the LEAF was designed as “a ‘real car’ whose 160-kilometer+ (100 mile) range meets the needs of 70% of the world’s motorists.” Click here for first picture in gallery.

In the case of U.S. consumers, Nissan says that fully 80% of drivers travel less than 100km per day (62 miles), making the Leaf a solid fit for America’s motoring majority, even taking into account power-sapping external factors like hilly terrain, accessory draw, and extreme temperatures.

A vehicle that’s fit for Pixar’s “Cars” movie. Nissan’s “Smiling Vehicle” was coated in a polyurethane elastomer fiber called ROICA, which “has the ability to deform by up to 900%”, and then combined with animatronics to display human emotions. Video after the break.

The idea behind the Smiling Vehicle sounds rather esoteric. Apparently, Nissan sees this technology as an extension of the driver’s character, meaning it can be used to express your current feeling when you sit in the car.

NTT DoCoMo, Inc. will license the Scratch Shield for its mobile phones to be introduced in Japan, which will be a value-add feature for customers.
