These could quite possibly be the first pictures of Sony Ericsson’s rumored XPERIA S3 smartphone. Unlike the Windows Mobile-powered X2, this handset will boast Android. Technical specifications have not yet been released. Click here for first picture in gallery.

The skin, which is obviously early in development, is definitely unlike anything we’ve ever seen, and while we can’t make out much about the hardware, the general shape certainly jibes with what we’d expect an X3 to look like.

The size of the phone display has grown 0.2 inches and now measures the healthy 3.2″. It utilizes resistive technology again and its native resolution and supported colors remain the same, 480×800 pixels and 65k colors respectively.

The Sony Ericsson Jalou looks like jewelry, and the similarities don’t stop there. On the outside, this clamshell phone features a mirror-like casing that measures 73 x 45 x 18.2mm. The first thing about the phone that gripped our attention was its overall size. The device is extremely compact and will certainly not take up much of what’s usually considered quite precious in a ladies’ handbag, i.e. space.

Amazon is selling the unlocked Sony Ericsson W995a for just $479.99 shipped, originally priced at $599.99. It offers a 2.6-inch display and 8.1-megapixel camera, “which includes a flash and face recognition technology.” Product page.

The phone’s integrated aGPS location feature not only enables you to find your way from point to point with the preloaded Google Maps application, but you can also geotag photos with the precise location where they were shot.

Now that you’ve seen the Sony Ericsson Rachel pictures, it’s only fitting that a leaked video of its Android-powered UI surfaces. This phone is speculated to boast “a Snapdragon processor, an 8-megapixel camera with auto-focus, and 3D acceleration.” Video after the break.

It also appears to be heavily oriented to social networks like Facebook and Twitter. I like it enough to make me want to ditch my iPhone – if it had equivalent apps to the ones I use, that is.

Sony Ericsson isn’t known for coming out with Google Android-powered smartphones, but the “Rachel” definitely changes that. Featuring a “1GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon processor, HSPA and an 8 megapixel camera.” Continue reading for one more picture.

It’s unclear how big the touchscreen is, and other details are scarce — there is a 3.5mm headphone jack, so that’s nice, but unless we’re severely misguided, there doesn’t seem to be a slide-out keyboard.
