The THeMIS (Tracked Hybrid Modular Infantry System) is a multi-mission, unmanned ground vehicle (UGV), developed by Estonia-based defence and security services provider Milrem, could be the ultimate war weapon. It’s designed for a range of military missions in dangerous or hard-to-reach areas, as THeMIS can be configured for different roles including reconnaissance, observation, target acquisition, communications relay, logistics support platform, rescue, fire-fighting, and medical evacuation (medevac). Raytheon StormBreaker Smart Bomb

Raytheon announced this week that its StormBreaker smart bomb has entered operational testing phase, bringing it one step closer to providing the U.S. Air Force with the capability to strike maneuvering targets in adverse weather. It will be first fielded on the F-15E Strike Eagle, and is planned to be integrated onto the F-35 Joint Strike Fighter by 2022. This tri-mode seeker uses imaging infrared, millimeter wave and semi-active laser, giving pilots the ability to destroy moving targets on the battlefield in adverse weather conditions from standoff ranges. Laser Assault Rifle

The ZKZM-500 Laser Assault Rifle by China-based Xian Institute of Optics and Precision Mechanics was modeled after the AK-47, but unlike its low-tech counterpart, this weapon is accurate up to 800-meters away and causes ‘instant carbonization’ of human skin. It’s also capable piercing through metal gas tanks to ignite the fuel within, while remaining completely silent and with an invisible beam to boot. Artist Ravi Zupa has given new life to old typewriters, in the form of antique gun sculptures. In addition to typewriter parts, he used everyday things, like scrap metal, staplers, and more, to complete each one. “These pieces are constructed from disassembled antique typewriters. ACV Amphibious Combat Vehicles

The U.S. Marine Corps partnered with BAE Systems to build the ACV 1.1, a high-tech amphibious combat vehicle. This 8×8 amphibious platform can carry 13 embarked Marines, plus a crew of three, and boasts a special ‘H-Drive’ System to provide full time all-wheel traction both on land and in the surf zone. It’s powered by a 690HP engine, good over a range of more than 325 miles on land before needing to refuel, and it can travel at speeds in excess of 65 miles per hour.
