As cool as it is ingenious, the Cell Gunphone will give security officials even more to worry about. On the outside, it looks like any other cell phone, but lying beneath the exterior is a .22-caliber pistol that's capable of firing four rounds in rapid succession. Twist the phone, load up the top half with .22-caliber bullets, and fire away using keys 5-8.
“We find it very, very alarming,” says Wolfgang Dicke of the German Police union. “It means police will have to draw their weapons whenever a person being checked reaches for their mobile phone.”

This is illegal under existing laws. Possession would be a felony.
6
It's not illegal provided you have a concealed ( spelling? ) weapons permit, which is not hard to obtain, I'm sorry to say. Carry permits such as those enable the bearer to carry firearms in a concealed fashion ( duh ) which is the case here.
7
yeah.....I should remember to check the country, at least in the US, that is the case....
8
RetroCrush gives this invention a big thumbs up.
9
Cap you with my moto, son!
10
I'm confused, .22 long? Is this supposed to be lethal? 'cus after popping at tin cans, I'd say that you'd need a well-aimed shot to do more than just hurt somebody. But it'd be a great concealable deterent.
11
It may not be lethal but .22 cal's are so small the bullet will bounce around off bones and such therefore doing more internal damage.
12
It's considered a "novelty weapon", and under federal law, is illegal. (Concealed Carry Permit or not). A gun has to look like a gun. .22 long is deadly.
13
a .22 cal bullet has enough power to break any bone on the human body once. If someone is shot in the skull, even at 50 yards it will enter the caranial cavity and bounce around in there unil its force is used up. pretty deadly if you ask me.
14
Good luck not dying if you get shot in the face point blank by (4) .22 bullets....
15
Actually the .22 Long Rifle was one of the most popular ammo for many government organizations in many countrys. When a .22 enters the body perferably the head, it has enough force to enter but not go through. the round then bounces shredding any organs that it comes in contact with. Very popular with assasins.
16
.22 will easily kill somebody.. especially 4 direct shots to the head

"great concealable deterent." Think about what you just said, son. It's not a deterrent unless someone knows you're packing. Which means something like this isn't a deterrent unless everybody has one. Which ain't gonna happen. Waving a revolver, or some other honestogoodness handcannon at somebody, may be a deterrent. Having a little peashooter in your purse that you have to rummage around for? Not a deterrent. Waving your cellphone at someone? Not a deterrent. You can *shoot* someone with it. But that goes past "deterrence" and into "shooting people" which is problematic unless you're the vice president, in which case, fine.

This is awesome, I wish I could order one of these right away. Whoever thinks these shouldn't be sold is one big gaping vagina.
19
I would rather carry around a real pistol that his sights and preferably a larger caliber bullet like a .38 or .45. Aim and do some real damage.
20
actually, a gun does NOT have to look like a gun under federal law, as long as that non-gun-looking-gun is registered in the National Firearms Registry and Transfer Record as an "AOW" (Any Other Weapon) - this is the same classification as a pen gun, cane gun, belt buckle gun, etc. It's perfectly legal, as long as you do the paperwork on it. It's the same paperwork as is required for machine guns, so it's a PITA, but it can be done, and done legally.
21
Buy me one please...
22
This is sick and can do too much damage.
23
quite a piece of machinery

The liberal comments above really gave me a chuckle. Especially the one about, "unless you're Dick Cheney." Liberals by far are the ignorant, and uneducated bunch which has been proven time and time again. Simply read their beliefs, and their debates. Albeit many their beliefs might be rooted in what they view as "best" for society, but intentions and the outcome, are two entirely different entities. Guns don't kill, people kill. Smucks. (don't view this as Rep. vs. Dem., for I am neither)
