3D Display Cube Audio

Now that you've seen Pong being played on the nifty 3D Display Cube, see what it can do with audio. Demonstration after the jump. Just a quick refresher:
Using 1000 LEDs as spatial pixels, each display Cube is able import photoshop files and video to be viewed in the display region. Interactive elements such as video cameras and live audio can also be connected to the Cube to generate live spatial imagery

Is that all it does ? Its really just displaying a 2D wave... That makes in a lot easier to code and wire since each line of diode can be wired togather but kinda lame too... A video camera hooks up to it? It just does the same with with the audio from a camera or it does some different display stuff ?
