Homeplus, a large South Korean retailer has opened the world’s first virtual store aimed at smartphone users. Shoppers purchase items by scanning barcodes of virtual products displayed in a Seoul subway station. They’re currently offering 500 items, including food, electronics, office supplies and toiletries at this virtual store.
