Yes, the Mona Lisa portrait above was made with a typewriter — as well as what you see below, by the late Paul Smith, using these symbols: @ # $ % ^ & * ( ) _. Some even say he was the father of ASCII Art. Due to severe cerebral palsy, Paul wasn’t able to finish school, but still lead a rather productive life as an artist and chess player.
