There's no shame in playing with paper, especially if it's used to build functional V8/V12 engines, complete with moving parts and gearbox. Continue reading to see them both. Click here for first picture in gallery.

V12 Engine

Measuring 630mm x 405mm x 335mm, this incredible V12 four-stroke engine, comprised of 1978 pieces of paper, is fully-functional and powered by two AA batteries. Movable parts include: a compound crankshaft, rapid cooling fan, 12 rods and 12 pistons. It weighs 1492g and sports a 13.5RPM crankshaft speed.

V8 Engine

This fully-functional V8 Engine was made entirely from paper, with the exception of its internals. It sports many moving parts, which include a compound crankshaft, 8 rods/pistons, and a complex compound gearbox. The engine is powered by two 1.5V D-sized batteries and weighs in at just 2.98kg.

It doesn't really make any sense that these are labeled as "functional" engines. They're great moving models, but they're not functional. It's not an internal combustion engine, without the combustion part... But still, great models!
