The US Navy has developed an electromagnetic rail gun capable of firing a dozen projectiles -- leaving the barrel at Mach 7+ -- every minute. Each projectile travels at approximately 8200 ft/s, covering 290-miles in six minutes. In the clip, you'll see a prototype that demonstrates "the technology of the rail gun for use on future DDG-1000 class Navy ships." Video after the break. Click here for first picture in gallery.
