LG KE850 Touchscreen Phone Video Preview

"GTPH" gives us a hands-on preview of the LG KE850, which looks very similar to the iPhone. Technical specifications have not yet been released, but we do know that it sports a 240 x 400 touchscreen display. Video after the jump.

That does look preety sweeeet. it kind of raises a few questions though... 1 - Are all the other phone companies rushing to produce phones as good, if not better than the iphone? 2 - Is touch screen tehcnology going to be the next step for all phones? or will hard buttons remain king? 3 - Will these other companies touch screens be as good or better than the iphone?

"Are all the other phone companies rushing to produce phones as good, if not better than the iphone?" Jesus Christ, "Nate The Revisionist", will you give it a rest? This was seen weeks before the ApplePhone* was even announced (but because it is an LG product no-one noticed or cared - until now). What, LG have a time machine do they, in order to rush out a copycat phone to beat Apple? If I were LG I'd be security checking my mobile phone development team.... *As Apple constantly try to sue anyone using the term "pod" in any way, shape or form, I refuse to use iPhone to describe their product.

phone seems rather sluggish compared to the iphone, though they both look great (i don't understand french, so i have no idea about that features he was talking about)

This is a very nice phone, and has a lot of what makes the iPhone cool and wonderful (in theory!) but it's touchscreen is of a different style, the big point of the iPhone is Multi Touch Screen, i.e. you can use more than one finger at a time to stretch things, thats something that just isn't possible with the current touch screen generation, as far as I can tell iPhone will be first to market with this, and possibly it has it Patented too - I say possibly because there is a video on you tube (and my blog http://applegarthblog.blogspot.com/) that shows a demo of this on a big screen and its spectacular. this LG phone is not even close to what the ApplePhone has shown in the keynote.... it might have the same physical form factor, but that is about it. no scrolling without scrollbars no two finger zoom sluggish interface and so on... it looks like the interface tries to emulate real buttons instead of using the real potential of a touchscreen lame. boogie lame
