That's right, this could quite possibly be the first Mac vs. PC ad, found in a 1996 issue of MacAddict. Click here for full-sized version.
Look, PC users wear suits! And Apple users wear… denim shirts over a t-shirt tucked into their hiked-up dad jeans? And an earring? Yikes, Apple users. That outfit wasn't even hip in 1996, which shows you how cool the editors of MacAddict are/were

That is funny. But I wonder how cool it is to have to dredge up ten year old material to try to level the current "playing field of coolness"? What else ya' got-- "Apple used to have colors in their logo. How 1970s." Yeah. Good one.

so Mac users aren't professional looking? Wearing jeans on a conference with clients isn't to good.

It’s just prove that those goofy looking mac/apple are a dying breed; even after decades and their user base is still a meager %5... Their recent TV ad is only proving that their mind set still stuck in yesteryear; no forward thinking, no creativities; just a bunch of goof-off trying to lure people into their odd-ball POS. About their “SWITCH” advertise a while back, the reason that we haven’t see it lately is because they just realize that the BIGGEST switchers are from mac/apple to PC; don’t believe me? The fact is they literally giving away those crappy machines to public school with the great big hope that those exposed to them in the early ages would grow up using it, WRONG! My classmates and I are a small number to proof that it not working; though we were young but we’re smart enough to know what’s store in the future. Yeah, it was nice to use it in school but we all uses PC at home. In fact, I used my hard earned summer job’s money to buy my first PC ‘cause there is no way in HELL that we getting those over priced doorstop machingtrash. BTW, what happen to the weasel steve jobs after he admitting that he knew about those options backdating? It’s obvious to that company that since no one has any gain from it therefore there’s no foul… Talk about morality or lack of it from a company that wanted people to take them seriously; what they need to do is get out of the computing business and concentrates all their effort on those little toys.

I do a lot of audio and have switched a ton of mac users to Windows when they see what kind of application support Windows has in the realm of audio and how xp really does have a lot of hardware support for both audio and video input and output devices and is no longer unstable- it is funny because I used to teach graduate studies in both digital art/animation and sound design/soundtrack composition and the departments were split between mac and PC and my students were either devoted to one or the other (since most of my audio students came from the 3d dept. which was all pc) and back in the day I was always the lone windows kid in a sea of macs in the design world- personally I really don't see a great future right now for either OS and if linux wants to really attract people to the distros there needs to be some sort of unification that isn't there- in the end I think that microsoft probabaly will be able to fix their vista problems mainly because people will hack and mod- and some service pack will create a middle ground between the mods and the current problems- but in the mean time, OSX is old and not utilitarian enough, vista is going to take a while for people to catch (if it doesn't become another ME) and linux is all over the place and still can't figure out if it wants to be open source distro or freeware or both or neither ... I feel it is right now a dark time for the OS

I laughed so much at this bit from the Mac guy: "HOBBIES : No time for hobbies, too busy spamming Windows-only developers" I was like that then, still is today! It looks like its been Apple's priority for quite some times now

Sorry guys, this is probably a fake. Did people spam in 1996? Not really.
