SAAB has just released a new promotional video of their Aero-X concept. Powered by a twin-turbo, 2.8L BioPower V6 engine -- producing 400hp @ 5000rpm and 369 lb-ft @ 2000-5000 rpm -- this concept is all about eye candy, with a cockpit canopy (replaces doors and windscreen pillars) that gives the driver full 180-degree views. Video after the jump.
With weight-saving carbon fiber bodywork, a lightweight powertrain, electronically-controlled suspension and all-wheel drive, the Saab Aero X is an exciting driver's car that promises a level of performance to match its looks. Computer simulations anticipate zero to 100 kph in just 4.9 seconds and a top speed of 250 kph (limited)

I think Saab is taking their Made by Airplane Design theme a little too seriously. They need to focus on building better cars, with more widespread parts for repair, not flashy cars that will never fly. you cant even open 1 door without lifting the canopy, and i can already forsee how expensive repairs will be for the damb thing

nice looking car concept, although I think youshould open the front by sliding it forward instead of up.

and youl also know that this is more like a super car so it will not be a cheap car. so it can cost a vew euro's to repair and also parts in the eu are not so hard to get for a saab maybe in the states but there you have the same problem whit Alpha Romeo parts. i think its a super cool looking car like de design only i hope it hade a V8 Bi Feul that whould just give it that mutch more power.

The video was more about ice and water than car itself, i dont anything special, the roof slides in front, shouldnt it slide back? and they have not even showed it moving! anyone can create a model out of steel, making it work and move is that matters :P and yea they are more worried about their aero experience than car manufacturing.
5
that was pointless, the design is pointless.
