SENZ: The Wind-Proof Umbrella

What sets the SENZ apart from other umbrellas is that it can easily slice its way "through all winds, from an afternoon breeze to strong autumn gusts." Video after the jump.
The patented asymmetrical shape gives you a perfect sight, while giving you the best rain protection an umbrella can give. No longer will you embarrass yourself for running into telephone poles, cars or brick walls with an umbrella that completely blocks your view!

There are many new types of umbrella around. I recently came across a new British company called www.UmbrellaHeaven.com who have invented a twin hinged spoke design which they call their "Double-Dome" wind resilience technology. They have two sets of hinged spokes which make them very strong and means also that when eventually they do blow inside out then they can be recovered without damage - they have a video on the site which shows the umbrellas being tested in a vertical wind tunnel. They also make a really cool bike umbrella and they even have a rechargeable electrical umbrella .. check it out at www.UmbrellaHeaven.com - I also came across them on Amazon www.amazon.co.uk

This looks interesting but also looks very ugly. There are some other windproof umbrellas but which look much nicer on www.UmbrellaHeaven.com These have also been tested in a vertical wind tunnel. You can see the video on their website. They have 2 sets of hinged spokes so that they are stronger than ordinary brollies and can even be popped back into shape if they eventually do blow inside out. They are also much cheaper
