3. World’s Largest Functional iPod

MacDailyNews spotted the world’s largest functional iPod (powered by an iPod Shuffle) in Columbus, Ohio.

Visitors walking down Third St. have been gawking at this thing for the past couple of days. The 25 ft. iPod is attached to the side of the Unizan Bank building across from the state house. Not only does it look like an iPod, but it actually plays music!. We chose some of our favorite local musicians that had submitted songs to the online jukebox and we added them to the ipod playlist

2. iPod Shuffle NES Controller

This follow up to the first NES controller MP3 player builds on the premise of that device, but uses an iPod Shuffle instead. Aesthetically, everything has remained intact, other than the modified start/select buttons.

So you’ve seen the Numark iDJ2, now check out this custom built “iPod DJ Mixer”.

The click wheel is smaller than a 12-inch analog. Actions on discs are almost same, but the size makes a big difference on usability. To be an iPod DJ, you gotta think about a new interactive controller to operate the players — combining the iPod’s interface as a module for a new DJ system.

Honorable Mention – RAZER Keyboard with iPod Dock

RAZER, known for their gaming mice, will soon release a new keyboard with an integrated iPod dock. All the standard features – such as programmable keys and USB 2.0 connectivity – should be there. Honorable Mention – The $60,000 iPod Ad

One of the coolest projects we’ve come accross, this Tekserve advertisement took over $60,000 in iPod players to make — achieving a “Rube Goldbergian domino effect”.

The ad is for Tekserve, a large, independent Apple specialized store in New York City. That’s iTopia in the background, their store-within-a-store dedicated to iPods and iPod accessories.
