(Video) Linux Running On Xbox 360

Apparently a German hacker managed to get Linux running on an Xbox 360 console. Real or fake -- what are your thoughts? Video after the jump.
Now, in a tantalizing bit of showmanship put on by a cloaked hacker at the 23C3 Hacker Congress in Germany, a modified Xbox 360 (note attached circuit board) is shown loading Ubisoft's King Kong game just before displaying a trio of dancing 360, Tux, and (old) MacOS logos with the words "coming soon."

i dont see any linux running just a bouncing Pic of the MacOS logo and the Linux logo. but still its just a mater of time be for it runs on a 360...

um i dont think i saw linux running on the 360.... All i saw was a message saying that it was coming...the future perfect, not the present

I thought it was quite stupid as well at first... but why would he load a game then the coming soom image came up... sounds like a similar hack to the current psp and ipod hacks... a game or current operating system must be loaded befor the accessing the linux partition then used it to view the coming soon message... just my thought

I don't think that it is the big thing that linux per say is running yet- but the security on the 360 is tight- if you look back and watch the security of the original xbox video that was posted here a bit ago he talks a little about it in the end- for a group to come out and say that it is coming soon is an announcement in itself that is big- if they have found a crack in security mods and linux isn't far behind

Yeah, if linux were actually running on the 360, I think that they would have rolled the video to see some more footage of the operating system running. A bouncing box is just stupid. If ur going to get people all cranked up then maybe show some real footage.
