(Video) Tesla Roadster

One of our readers just sent in two new clips of the incredible Tesla Roadster. Watch after the jump.
Powered by a 3-phase, 4-pole AC induction motor, the Roadster can go 130 mph and does 0-60 in about 4 seconds, all completely silent

it's not a porsche or ferrari, and doens't look as pretty as they mostly do (in my opinion). I'd want to equate this to cars like the Honda S2000, Nissan 350z... so that $90K price tag suddenly looks rediculous. That said, 0-60 in 4.5 secs? my 350z can't do that, but then is 1.5 secs worth an extra $60K? My 6 second 350Z costs around $30 new

you could wait for the sedan which will probably still be good. They mention this in the second video at the end.

You should compare it to a lotus.... since thats what it is. I highly doubt there will be a sedan version.... maybe if lotus mades a sedan, or they can do it super lightwieght. And you are not paying 60k for 1.5s 0-60. You are paying 60k for exclusivity. LOTS of little 16 ricer kids have 350z. How many of these do you think you'll see ? I don't know, that crap is important to rich people. Its dumb. Normal people all get the same product and form communities, rich people get a product just to avoid other people knowing too much about THIER stuff.

i like it this car is looking Realy good for an ellectic car. but still you dont have that nice sound you get from a Nice V6,V8,V12 or wankel engine ;) thing is that kids will not hear you commeing So you will probably run over a few of them ;) ill wait for a good hydrogen power car and i dont mean the ellective Hydrogen but the combustion Hydrogen car. specialy in the wankelengine it would be nice to have hydrogen ;)

You guys are forgetting that it costs a LOT less to run this thing than conventional sports cars.

I hate to tell you, but from 6 seconds to 4 seconds is quite a lot of difference, that's 33% increase in acceleration. In fact, its the difference from .4g to almost .7g
