Gamers around the country have already started lining up at stores in hopes of snagging a PlayStation 3 at launch -- NYC pictured. Video of the Union Square (NYC) Circuit City line and lots of pictures after the jump. Here's what Robert Summa of Destructoid has to say:
Check out all these great pictures of gamers already in line to own, then sell, their very own PlayStation 3. You might want to ask them for a loan in the very near future as they will be swimming in dough when their PS3 hits the grey market
$600 worth of disappointment in a box

huh
the only reason I would even consider doing that is if i could make a hefty profit from them and even then, the wait wouldn't be worth it. I'm not buying one for about another 6 months or longer so the price will drop and sony will fix the bugs that are in it.

lol they have a life, they are having an experience that'll they'll tell their children about. You have just your post.
Leave them alone, I'm sure in other aspects of your life you have the same determination.

whose to say that they dont got a life. maybe some just really love videogames. at least they re sitting outside for something they think is worthwhile meanwhile u people just sit here telling others to get a life...well, sitting on ur a** dropping comments on tech e blog about others makes u people a real bunch of winners

This is what we have come down to, just a bunch of brainless people wanting to buy more stuff that will be not worth 50% of what they paid for when new. Don't get me wrong, I love technology as like the anybody else, but having to sit outside a store and wait for something, it just means that you are not contributing to society. There, I feel better.

Let's do the math...
-$600 plus tax initial investment on the PS3
+$1300 give or take on ebay
=$700 profit
/48+ hours of boredom and time wasted
=$14.50/hour
And some of these people quit their jobs over this???

how do those in the back of the line think they would get a system if sony is only launching less than half a million units nationwide? There are already expert predictions that it would only launch 200,000.
