Intel’s canceled Larrabee Knights Ferry (KNF) was supposed to be the company’s dedicated GPGPU chip separate from its current line of integrated graphics accelerators. There is currently only one known functioning prototype in the wild, and it just sold for a whopping $5,258 USD. One caveat: since it’s an engineering sample there are no drivers included, which means you won’t be able to game with this graphics card.
Why is there only a single known functioning prototype out in the wild? It’s probably because the project to produce a GPU retail product directly from the Larrabee research project was terminated over a decade ago before its technology was passed on to the Xeon Phi. This engineering sample was originally uncovered and reviewed by Linus Sebastian back in 2018. More information here.
