Josh D’Amaro, Disney Parks, Experiences and Products Chairman, previewed a futuristic robot with rollerblades at SXSW 2023 in Austin, Texas. It resembles Judy Hopps from Disney’s “Zootopia” film and could be making its way to Shanghai Disneyland’s new themed land opening later this year.
The Zootopia-themed land opening at Shanghai Disneyland will be located in their Fantasyland behind the Seven Dwarfs Mine Train attraction. There will be several entertainment, shopping and dining options, alongside a new major ride experience. Guests will apparently be able to immerse themselves in this themed area where they go on an adventure with Judy and Nick.

As the first-ever themed land of its kind, Zootopia will be unique to Shanghai Disneyland and will feature a new major attraction that seamlessly blends Disney’s storytelling and state-of-the-art technologies in order to bring this fan favorite movie and its characters to life, said Bob Chapek, former Disney CEO.
