Min-Liang Tan, co-founder and CEO of Razer, recently teased an exclusive one-off commission of a 24K gold Viper Mini Signature Edition computer mouse. Unfortunately, there’s no plans on a limited commercial release, as ‘it’s just so insanely over the top and special’, according to Tan.
The original Viper Mini Signature Edition computer mouse is made from high-grade magnesium alloy, which gives it an exceptional weight-to-strength ratio. It also features a new intricate, ultra-durable design created using an injection molding technique that is then CNC machined before being polished. The exoskeleton shell then goes through a post-fabrication process that manipulates the material to reduce any susceptibility to corrosion. Now this gold version definitely went through a similar, yet slightly different, process.

The Viper Mini Signature Edition represents the most ambitious design and engineering project we’ve ever undertaken. We wanted to push beyond the traditional honeycomb design and this required a material with an outstanding strength-to-weight ratio,” said Charlie Bolton, Head of Industrial Design at Razer.
