NVIDIA Blackwell B200 AI Chip GTC 2024
Jensen Huang unveiled the NVIDIA Blackwell B200 AI chip at GTC 2024 today, and it packs 208 billion transistors while boasting 20 petaflops of compute from a single GPU. It also has 192GB of HBM3e memory offering up 8 TB/s of bandwidth, enabling users to build and run real-time generative AI on trillion-parameter large language models at up to 25x less cost and energy consumption than its predecessor.

With 208 billion transistors, Blackwell-architecture GPUs are fabricated d using a custom-built 4NP TSMC process with two-reticle limit GPU dies connected by 10 TB/second chip-to-chip link into a single, unified GPU. The B200 includes a dedicated engine for reliability, availability and serviceability. There’s also a NVIDIA GB200 Grace Blackwell Superchip, which connects two NVIDIA B200 Tensor Core GPUs to the NVIDIA Grace CPU over a 900GB/s ultra-low-power NVLink chip-to-chip interconnect.
