We’ve seen plenty of drag racing showdowns, but how does the Lamborghini Urus Performante stand up to the BMW XM, Audi SQ8, and Mercedes-AMG G63? CarWow wanted to find out, so they pit all three V8-powered SUVs against each other to see which one would come out on top.
The Urus Performante is powered by a twin-turbocharged 4.0L V8 engine rated at 657 hp and 627 lb-ft of torque, mated to an eight-speed ZF 8HP automatic transmission, helping it accelerate from 0 to 62 mph in 3.3 seconds. Powering from Audi SQ8 is also a twin-turbocharged 4.0L V8 that engine, but one that only makes 500 hp and 568 lb-ft torque. We can’t forget the Mercedes-AMG AMG G63, which draws power from a twin-turbocharged AMG 4.0L V8 engine producing 577 hp and 627 lb-ft of torque. Let’s just say that the BMW XM is in a different class, but maybe not the one you’re thinking of.
