Set for release on October 1 and priced at $129 USD, the HMD Barbie Phone, made by the current owners of Nokia, brings back the iconic flip design. This device comes with with two alternative cases: the brightly colored swirls of 1992’s Totally Hair Barbie doll and a vintage ‘shooting heart’ design.
Aesthetically, it also sports a beaded phone strap that can be adorned with iconic Barbie phone charms including a tiny roller skate, as well as a Barbie doll-sized ice cream, and stick-on crystals. Since the HMD Barbie Phone was designed for the most basic of features, you’ll only be able to use its T9 keyboard to make calls and send texts, but no social media. However, you do get digital wellbeing tips, a beach-themed Malibu Snake, and a “Hi Barbie” voice that greets you whenever the phone is turned on.
