Unitree Firefighting B2 Robot Dog
Unitree Robotics, a Chinese company famous for its four-legged robot dogs, just released a firefighting version of its B2 robot dog made for emergencies in hazardous environments. It comes with a powerful water cannon that can spray water or foam up to 60 meters (almost 200 feet) at a rate of 40 liters per second.

The B2 firefighting model has joints that work 170% better than the regular B2, letting it climb obstacles up to 40 cm (15 inches) and handle stairs with a 45-degree slope. This helps it move through crumbled buildings or rough ground easily.

It can be equipped with tools like live video feeds, LiDAR sensors, and communication gear to give firefighters real-time updates from a distance, helping them understand risks before going in. Built to handle extreme heat and toxic conditions, the robot has a sprinkler system to stay cool in fiery settings, keeping it working well.

A Hot-Swap Battery System lets it run for a long time without losing its waterproofing, which is key for long firefighting tasks. The B2 can carry different modules, like robotic arms or extra sensors, making it useful for things like checking areas, mapping, or finding fire sources.

The robot is designed for places too risky for people, like collapsed buildings, areas with poisonous gases, or spots with no visibility. It can search for fire sources, help with search-and-rescue, and assist with safety checks after a fire.
