Samsung’s Galaxy Z Flip7, unveiled at the Galaxy Unpacked 2025 event in New York City, shakes up the flip-style foldable world with a bigger, brighter FlexWindow, a juicier battery, and AI functions that make it feel like a pocket-sized sidekick from the future.
Right off the bat, it’s got a 4.1-inch Super AMOLED FlexWindow, a big jump from the 3.4-inch cover screen on the Z Flip6. This edge-to-edge beauty, with a 120Hz refresh rate and 2,600 nits of brightness, changes how you use the phone without flipping it open. Vision Booster tech keeps it crystal clear even in blazing sunlight. As Samsung puts it, “Content spills elegantly from edge to edge on Galaxy Z Flip7’s stunning FlexWindow, which brings essentials front and center.”

Galaxy AI steals the show, baked right into One UI 8 on Android 16 for a super-smooth, almost psychic vibe. The FlexWindow now runs Gemini Live, so you can bark out commands like setting reminders, planning a getaway, or pulling up Samsung Wallet without unfolding. Point the camera at a cool statue, ask what it is, and the AI drops instant, spot-on info. “Galaxy Z Flip7 proves you can pack huge smarts into a tiny, pocket-friendly package,” says TM Roh.

The Z Flip7’s cameras include a dual rear setup with a 50MP wide-angle lens with OIS and a 12MP ultra-wide lens. The 10MP front camera, paired with the FlexWindow’s Dual Preview, lets you and your selfie subject see the shot live. Enhanced Nightography and 10-bit HDR video make low-light pics and clips pop, while Portrait Studio in Photo Assist throws in fun styles like cartoon or fisheye for quirky shots. The Zoom Slider and real-time filters on the FlexWindow make selfies and videos a breeze. Samsung nails it: “Photography shines with a flagship-level dual camera system, ProVisual Engine, and enhanced Nightography, all optimized for stunning selfies and vibrant video.”

Weighing just 188 grams and a slim 13.7mm when folded (6.5mm unfolded), the Z Flip7 is the sleekest Flip yet. The Armor Aluminum frame and Gorilla Glass Victus 2 keep it tough, and an IP48 rating shrugs off water and dust. Compared to the Z Flip6’s chunkier 14.9mm folded thickness, this feels way comfier in your hand. The 6.9-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X main display, with a 120Hz refresh rate, is ideal for most use cases.

Swapping out the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, the Z Flip7 runs on the Exynos 2500, a 3nm chip with a 38% faster CPU, 26% zippier GPU, and 41% speedier NPU for AI tasks. With 12GB of RAM and up to 512GB of UFS 4.0 storage, it runs apps and handles heavy tasks without breaking a sweat. The 4,300mAh battery—300mAh bigger than the Z Flip6’s—keeps you going for up to 31 hours of video playback, and 25W wired charging hits 50% in about 30 minutes. Wireless PowerShare and Fast Wireless Charging 2.0 are handy bonuses. For the first time, Samsung DeX lands on a Flip, turning it into a mini PC when hooked to a monitor.

Samsung also rolled out the Galaxy Z Flip7 FE, priced at $899.99 compared to the Z Flip7’s $1,099.99. With a 6.7-inch main display, a 3.4-inch cover screen, and a 50MP dual camera, it’s powered by the Exynos 2400 and a 4,000mAh battery This model skips the Z Flip7’s big FlexWindow and DeX but keeps the core AI and cameras.

Available in Blue Shadow, Jet Black, Coral Red, and an online-only Mint shade, the Z Flip7 lets you customize with adaptive clock faces and wallpapers that hug the FlexWindow’s content. The Z Flip7 FE rocks Black and White for a clean, simple look. Pre-orders kicked off July 9, with shipping starting July 25, and Samsung’s tossing in six months of Google AI Pro for free to sweeten the deal.
