Kirby Winson spent years building the Vanedelic, turning a 2023 Mercedes Sprinter 170 AWD into a 24 foot beast for dusty festivals or remote trails where most rigs fail.
Stepping inside, it feels like a secret room carved out of wood, with curved windows casting beautiful arcs of sunlight across bamboo counters and cabinets that bulge out in smooth flowing lines that match the van’s exterior. Above, a large skylight surrounds the seating area and turns the evening into a canopy of sky without leaving the van.

Power flows through the Vanedelic like an invisible river, thanks to panels on the folding roof rack that absorb 1,400 watts of sunlight, tilting to chase the light and feed a bank of lithium cells that store 5 kilowatt-hours. A Victron panel on the dashboard monitors every volt and amp and lets you adjust everything from one screen. When a campsite doesn’t have shore power, a 3,000 watt inverter takes over and multiplies outlets and charges everything from laptops to coffee makers.
A 35 gallon tank powers a shower that folds away behind a panel, heating up with an electric heater that produces hot water on demand. Filtration uses reverse osmosis to provide crystal clear water right from the tap for long distances. Grey water accumulates in a 22 gallon tank with its own warmer to avoid winter freezes and dumps out via a switch you flip from the driver’s seat – no crawling under the mess. The toilet fits into a drawer like cassette that’s easy to service and out of sight.
Diesel burns clean in a Webasto unit that adjusts for high altitude, blows heat through vents on cold mornings when frost is on the windows. In the summer a 24 volt air conditioner puts out 13,000 BTUs and draws cool air from the insulated walls that keep the temperature locked in like a thermos. Foam and barriers surround the frame from floor to ceiling and turn the cabin into a cocoon against 100 degree heat or howling winds.
Signals travel far with a Starlink dish mounted on the roof rail and connected to the 12v backbone for seamless pulls. When you park, push it out into the track, latch onto satellites, and streams load smoothly, even in valleys where cell bars disappear.
Outside, it’s wrapped in a color changing gold to red skin that protects the original paint from scratches and stares. A steel bumper surrounds the grille, LED bars cut through the fog and a 12,000 lb winch is coiled.
