You’ve seen several laser defense systems, but DARPA’s Iron Active Protection System is the first one to be installed on a moving vehicle. Utilizing “radar, optical sensors and some other secret elements to detect projectiles.” Video after the break.
It then destroys them right before impact, creating an explosion but one that is much less harmful to the vehicle.
