Glass Bottom Pool Honolulu
Sure, this isn’t the first glass-bottomed pool to extend over the edge of a high-rise building, but it’s definitely one of the latest. Located at the Anaha complex in Honolulu, Hawaii, it was designed by Chicago-based studio Solomon Cordwell Buenz (SCB) in collaboration with local firm Benjamin Woo Architects. It’s cantilevered 75-feet above ground with a transparent base that can be viewed from both the sides as well as bottom.

The 38-story Anaha tower, clad in green-blue glass that mimics the colors of the Pacific Ocean, is comprised of a stack with curving walls, offset from one another to resemble 400-foot waves.

The composition is reminiscent of the play between the crests and troughs of a calm ocean wave. And like a wave, the reflection of light off the facade will constantly alter as the viewpoint and environmental conditions change,” said SCB.
