Nik Wallenda, an aerialist from Florida, successfully crossed the Grand Canyon on a tightrope yesterday, and without a safety harness. That’s right, he performed the stunt on a 2″ thick steel cable suspended 1500-feet above the river. Continue reading for two videos and more information.

Wallenda took slightly more than 22-minutes to complete the feat, pausing and crouching twice as 30mph winds whipped him around as the rope swayed. According to The Daily Mail: “Wallenda told reporters after the walk that he hoped his next stunt would be a tightrope walk between the Empire State building and the Chrysler building in New York.”
