Apple Watch Series 11 Review

Apple is continually improving its smartwatch lineup and the Series 11 is the latest example. This one is brand new and has all the features that made the Series 10 a daily must have. Amazon has already dropped the base aluminum model to $389 from $399, so now is the time to pick one up before the Black Friday craze kicks in.

The Series 11 lasts 24 hours on a single charge which is an improvement over the Series 10. Real world testing shows it can go much further, 15% or more after a day of notifications, workouts and the occasional phone call. No more searching for an outlet before bed or during lunch. You put it on in the morning and forget about it until the evening runs and late supper arrive. Fast charging helps—plug it in for 15 minutes and you’ll have 8 hours of use which is enough for a morning workout or an afternoon walk.

Health tracking gets a big boost especially for those tracking long term wellness. The headline feature is hypertension notifications which scan your heart data over several weeks for patterns that indicate high blood pressure. Catch it early, and you can go to the doctor with hard numbers in hand, potentially avoiding worse problems down the road. Add that to the new sleep score, which combines your rest time, phases, respiration and heart rate, to give you a daily rating. Wake up to a Sleep Score feature that shows you if your past nights sleep energized you or left you drained.

These features supplement the existing lineup—ECG for abnormal rhythms, blood oxygen checks and sleep apnea alerts—to give you a more complete view of how your body handles daily stress. If fitness is part of your weekly routine the redesigned Workout Buddy uses Apple Intelligence to give you real time advice during sessions such as tempo changes or water reminders based on the weather and your exertion level.

Aluminum models now have Ion-X glass with a ceramic coating which is twice as scratch resistant as the Series 10. Swipe it against your keys in your pocket or brush it on a rough countertop and the surface won’t get the faint scratches that appear over time. Titanium models retain their sapphire crystals for extra crack resistance. Both cases are 9.7mm thin and water resistant to 50 meters so you can shower, swim and sweat worry free.
