Tesla Semi Prototype

There’s the new Tesla Roadster that does 0-60mph in a mere 1.9-seconds, and then this Tesla Semi, which goes into production in 2019. A blacked out prototype was recently spotted on public roads near a UPS depot, and compared to other diesel-powered trucks, its ability to sprint from 0-60mph in 5-seconds is quite impressive, or at least when it’s not towing a trailer behind it. The top-of-the-line model features a zero-emission range of up to 500 miles when fully charged and will set you back $180,000. Continue reading for two more videos and information.

“Tesla has already received plenty of interest for the Semi. Despite the company�s history of delaying products, they already have 100 units reserved by PepsiCo, and 125 units reserved by UPS, with the latter being their largest order yet. All-in-all, the Californian maker has received some 1,500 reservations, with customers including Wal-Mart, J.B. Hunt, Sysco, and Anheuser-Busch, among others,” according to Car Scoops.
