The kinetic Bloomframe seems like a normal window at first, but at the push of a button, it transforms into an open-air balcony. Created by HofmanDujardin, this technology may finally be installed on high-rise apartments and luxury residences in the near future. This technology has been in the works for years now, since 2008 to be exact, with a functional prototype debuting at the “Batimat” exhibition in Paris.
Building a product that is both safe and sleek has proved to be a challenge, yet developments continue to be made so the Bloomframe installation can be incorporated into construction in the coming years. High-end luxury residences will likely feature the window-balcony combination first, before the trend will possibly take off to become a part of every neighborhood.
