A Borderlands 4-inspired Claptrap gaming PC has gone viral after NVIDIA and 2K Games teamed up with builder Stefan Ulrich to create a $14,000 system that’s all about flair and substance in the Borderlands franchise.
The yellow and black Claptrap color scheme is used throughout the design. Ulrich built the robot’s boxy, wheeled form, capturing the character’s crazy personality. The housing is Claptrap’s angular body, with a single large wheel at the bottom and a glowing blue eye that serves as a status light. Every edge is deliberate, with hand-painted weathering to give it that rough and tumble Pandora vibe.

Inside, the hardware matches the exterior’s ambition. The visuals are powered by an NVIDIA RTX 5080 Founders Edition graphics card, which can handle 4K gaming and ray tracing. It’s got AMD’s Ryzen 7 7800X3D processor, a popular choice among gamers for its efficiency and performance. The MSI B650I Edge WiFi motherboard ties everything together, and 32GB of DDR5 RAM for seamless multitasking. A 2TB NVMe SSD for storage and a 1000W Corsair power supply to keep everything stable under stress.

Ulrich had to balance aesthetics and functionality when building a case mod like this. Claptrap’s compact, asymmetrical shape leaves little room for typical PC configurations, so he had to get creative with mounting options. The wheel is beautiful, but it hides part of the cooling system, which has vents precisely placed in the chassis to maintain airflow. Cables are hidden away to keep things tidy, and components are thoughtfully placed to prevent overheating in the tight space.

For Borderlands fans, this PC is more than just specs. Claptrap, voiced by David Eddings in the games, is the series’ funniest character, a robot with an outgoing personality that hides depth. This build embodies that mentality, with easter eggs like engraved words from the character and a tiny antenna that wobbles when turned on. It’s a nod to gamers who have spent hours on Pandora, making the PC feel like a real-world extension of the game.
The giveaway is a bonus, but only open to US residents. To enter, share this post on Instagram and follow the official Borderlands as well as NVIDIA GeForce accounts. The winner will be DM’d so make sure to turn on your notifications.
