DigiWall puts a new twist on climbing walls by adding an interactive element. This system is composed of three parts: 1) Sensor-equipped climbing holds; 2) 7-channel sound system located on all four sides of the wall; 3) Computer system that stores numerous interaction models (competitions, games, etc.). Short video demonstration from SIGGRAPH 2006 after the jump.
The sensors in the climbing holds are the inputs to the computer system. The computer keeps a map of the DigiWall® and knows where the individual holds are located. The light in the climbing hold is used to mark holds for certain purposes or to act as very low resolution graphics
