Epic Games has remade the classic UT99 opening in Unreal Engine 5 to celebrate the Unreal Tournament episode coming to Amazon Studios’ Secret Level anthology on December 10. Put simply, this 15-episode animated anthology series features original stories set within the worlds of some of the world’s most beloved video games.
Unreal Tournament 99 (UT99) is the second game ever to be powered by the original Unreal Engine, and best known as an arena first-person shooter with head-to-head multiplayer deathmatches. As you can see in this opening, the levels are set in various environments, including spaceships, outposts and other buildings like castles and monasteries.

I wish a UT99 remake would happen and play just like the original. I still play the old one on my 1999 Gateway with Voodoo Graphics and an Aureal sound card. I hope Unreal Engine 5 can compete with that,” said one commenter.
