Set for release on July 12, 2024, ‘Fly Me to the Moon’ stars Scarlett Johansson (Kelly Jones) and Channing Tatum (Cole Davis). It takes place during the 1960s space race and features Johansson as a marketing executive contracted by NASA to create a fake moon landing in case the real mission fails.
Apple Studios actually won the project in a $100 million deal following a bidding war in 2022. If the film sounds somewhat familiar, that’s because it was previously known as “Project Artemis.” Chris Evans was initially set to play Cole Davis, while Jason Bateman, originally set as the film’s director, had to leave the project due to creative differences. The latter is why Evans could not complete the project and Netflix’s “Pain Hustlers” simultaneously.
