Unlike traditional TVs that use white or blue LEDs with quantum dots, this model uses over 20,000 red, green and blue LEDs. Each can be controlled individually, resulting in colors that pop with incredible realism. Hisense claims the TV covers 95% of the BT.2020 colour gamut a benchmark that means vibrant true to life colors. Testing confirms this with the TV achieving 92.64% of BT.2020 and peak brightness of 6,014 nits in SDR and 5,441 nits in HDR. Hisense says 8,000 nits under specific conditions making this one of the brightest screens out there.
The Hi-View AI Engine X powered by deep neural networks analyses every frame in real time. It adjusts colour, contrast and motion to suit the content whether you’re watching a high speed car chase or a quiet drama. This processor is 1.4 times faster than the 2024 model and ensures smooth transitions and sharp details. For gamers the 165Hz native refresh rate with AMD FreeSync Premium Pro and Auto Low Latency Mode minimises lag and screen tearing. Input lag is 14.6ms slightly higher than some competitors but still responsive enough for competitive play.Sound is another winner. Its 6.2.2 channel audio system tuned with Opéra de Paris and Devialet delivers 110 watts of power. Side speakers, top-firing drivers and a built in subwoofer gives you a Dolby Atmos experience.

Navigating the 116UX is a breeze thanks to the Google TV platform. It organizes your streaming apps—Netflix, Disney+, YouTube and more—into a clean interface. Google Assistant is available via the TV’s far-field microphone or the included solar powered remote and lets you control playback or smart home devices with voice commands. The remote with its sleek design and solar cell means no more battery swaps a small but nice touch.

Connectivity keeps up with the times, and includes three HDMI 2.1 ports support 4K at 165Hz, although some may wish there was a fourth. A USB-C port with DisplayPort functionality lets you plug in your laptop or tablet. There’s also Wi-Fi 6E for fast streaming and an Ethernet port for a stable alternative. Two USB-A, composite video, headphone, optical audio and RF antenna inputs, finish things off.
Reflections are minimized by the Anti-Reflection Pro coating. This layer reduces glare so you can see clearly even in bright rooms. The TV supports all major HDR formats – Dolby Vision, HDR10, HDR10+, HLG – for deep blacks and vivid highlights. IMAX Enhanced and Filmmaker Mode so every scene looks as the director intended.
If you don’t like the $29,999 price, Hisense has a 100-inch version, the 100UX, for $19,999. Both have the same RGB MiniLED tech but the 116UX is the more immersive experience. Compared to Samsung’s Micro RGB TV, Hisense delivers similar colour performance for potentially less money, although Samsung claims 100% BT.2020 coverage. The 116UX also competes with TCL’s 115-inch QM8 for $19,999 which uses quantum dot MiniLED but no RGB backlight.
