Honda introduces the world’s first motorcycle airbag that sits on the fuel tank and instantly deploys when crash sensors detect an impact. This technology will be released on all Honda Goldwings released starting early next year.

While the bag won’t prevent them from falling off the bike, it does dramatically reduce the risk of a fatal accidental. It takes just 0.006 seconds for the bag to inflate from the moment of impact, the four front fork-mounted sensors triggering the device and also ensuring the airbag is only deployed in an emergency.
